It would probably be christoph waltz except ive only seen him in like 2-3 things. Everything he's been in has been astounding. Mine would have to John Lithgow. The man is a masterpiece.

I actually met and sat with John Lithgow at a coffee shop one time, listening to a jazz artist that I was friends with. We chatted a bit, not much, and in the end he introduced her to Bonnie Raitt.
I'd have to say that I like Harrison Ford. Val Kilmer had range in the past, but now he is just huge. Patrick Stewart is a good one, as is Ian McKellan.
Actors that I think are over-rated, can't stand, and just plain hate (in this order): Denzel Washington, Ben Stiller, Ben Affleck

He was personable. We didn't have a long conversation or anything because the whole point of it was my friend's show, but we talked a little about her, a little about his visit, and what I was studying (this was back in college days). I was actually late to the show, and the place was packed, so I just sat down at the first open chair i saw. He happened to be next to me.
