Years ago he posted a pic of himself with his neck breathing tube in, kinda red and puffy from the steroids they had him on. I forget who wrote it, but someone goes "looks like something is bothering you."

I PMed him and said "dude -- I would NEVER post something like this without running it by you first, but I want to make a joke at your expense..." and I told him the joke. His PM back went something like "I love it that you assholes treat me like a normal friend here. Please post it, I don't care."

...so I wrote back to the thread "Yeah, breathing."

...I thought people were going to fucking hang me. He had to post, a couple times, that he allowed the joke and appreciated it. It is funny in retrospect, but also kind of heartwarming.
